Bluelink Messaging/NGP VAN Integration

Sync events, survey questions and contact results that you have created in NGP VAN to Bluelink. Then sync the data you collect from your campaigns back to NGP VAN.

Before you can sync data between Bluelink Messaging and NGP VAN, you need to set up the integration.

Once the NGP VAN API key is set up, go to the integrations page to sync the data you want to use in your Bluelink Messaging account.

        Survey Questions

        Survey Questions from both My Voters and My Campaign will appear in the Questions section of the Bluelink Messaging app and can be added to Templates to be updated while texting.

        Activist Codes

        Activist Codes from both My Voters and My Campaign will appear in the Questions section of the Bluelink Messaging app as Yes/No questions and can be added to Templates to be updated while texting.

        Contact Results

        Contact Results, like Wrong Number and Moved, can be updated while texting and synced back to NGP VAN. Make sure you finish contact result setup before you start texting.

        Events

        My Campaign Events can be synced to Bluelink Messaging and added to Templates. Then, you can update event statuses while you're texting. You'll need to sync each event you want in order to use it in a template.

        Contact Types

        Each SMS message or email you send will add a record to the Contact History in NGP VAN. SMS messages will appear as Contact Type "SMS," and email contacts will appear as Contact Type "Email".

         

        Contacts must have an associated VANID in order for any data to be synced back to their contact record in NGP VAN. If a list is imported by Google Sheet or CSV, a VANID must be included for each contact in the list. VANID is automatically included in imports sent directly from NGP VAN.
